Hairspray Salon has been a Wickenden street icon for more years than most local Providence residents can remember. Since opening, it has grown to be one of the most desirable style locales on the East Side, known for their innovative cuts and their casual environment. In 2005, Luz Arteaga-Pray, took ownership of Hairspray, innovating the salon with new technology, new stylists, and providing the Providence community with a new venue to showcase local art.
The Hairspray team prides themselves on providing fashionable styles in a cool and comfortable setting. Collectively, the style team has 112 years of hairdressing experience, but they bring more to the table than just cuts. Outside of the salon, many of them practice various creative arts from painting to metalworking, bringing new vision to their styling work.
With such a personal commitment to the arts, Hairspray also opens its doors and walls to budding artists as a place to show their work. Each season, Hairspray features the work of a new artist, celebrating with an opening. The salon transforms into an art gallery for the night, creating a place for local Providence residents to enjoy new art and music as well as an unconventional way to network, mixing business with the arts.
Hairspray offers complete life beautification. It's more than just hair, its a make over experience for the mind, body and soul.
