Open on the 2nd Saturday from 1:00-4:00 p.m. for tours. Special events held throughout the year to raise funds for the restoration of RI's finest Federal style house. Built in 1810 with lottery winnings for a young woman who rejected the house. Known now as "the house that love built", this 10 room home, built entirely of stone and reminiscent of Mt. Vernon, is owned by the Town of Lincoln and is being preserved and promoted by the Friends of Hearthside, an all volunteer organization. A blacksmith shop next door, also run by Friends of Hearthside, offers weekly demonstrations and classes in handforging on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m.-noon.
