Garden in the Woods is the premier wildflower showcase in the Northeast. Woodland trails meander over 45 acres, past vistas of wildflowers, ferns, shrubs and trees. As an accredited museum devoted to the conservation of temperate North American flora, the garden displays more than 1,600 varieties of plants. Across this glacially sculpted terrain of rolling hills, ponds, and streams, an abundance of wildflowers and other plants flourish in a series of specially designed gardens. A visitor can see more rare species in one hour's walk than in a lifetime of hiking in the backwoods of America.

Garden in the Woods is the headquarters and botanic garden of the New England Wild Flower Society, an institution dedicated to promoting conservation of North American native plants through education, research, horticulture, habitat preservation, and advocacy. The garden is a center for conservation horticulture, where dedicated professionals pioneer the science and art of native plant cultivation.
