| Description: | Celebrate the year of the Ox! According to Chinese astrology and lunar calendar, 2009 is the year of the Ox, and 2010 is the year of the Tiger. Chinese astrology is based on the Eastern zodiac, the oldest known horoscope system in the world. According to Chinese legend, the order of the twelve signs was determined by Buddha, who gave each animal a year of its own, bestowing the nature and characteristics of each to those born in that animals year. Stone rubbings representing the twelve zodiacal animals, mounted on a pair of screens, will be on view through January 3, 2010. |
