| Description: | The Jacob Edwards Library, Southbridge is pleased to announce that art teacher Charlene Cloutier is exhibiting 50 canvasses, at the library for the month of July. This exhibit includes many playground paintings as well as landscapes (some from the area, some from northern California), many close-ups of fruit and also (most recently) several chicken paintings, a dobro and close-ups of vehicles with shiny chrome. On Thursday, July 2nd, 2009, from 6: 30 pm to 7:30 pm there will be a reception in the main hall where visitors can view the beautiful artwork and meet the artist. Live acoustic music and light refreshments will be provided. The event is free and everyone is welcome! Most of Charlenes work is done on canvas, some smaller paintings are done on panels. The paintings are bright and colorful and continue around the edges of the canvas to create a three-dimensional effect. Her work has been shown at Hylands, The Sturbridge Bread Company, The Vanilla Bean, QVCAH, Arts Worcesters Aurora Gallery and currently at Harrington Memorial Hospital. Prints are available of many paintings in the exhibit, greeting cards are available at the Information Desk. Charlene lives in Sturbridge with her husband John Cloutier (a local sign painter) and their two sons. During the school year she can be found at West Street School in Southbridge. |
