You've seen them perform the National Anthem at the World Cup Qualifier- Matches live from Croke Park. Now you have the chance to experience 'The Biggest Little Band in the World' live at the Hanover theatre on 28th August 2009. It's been 11 years since Artane Boys Band visited the east coast of the USA. Known since 2004 as the Artane band, this premier, Irish Marching Band/Concert Band performs selections of music with a little something for everyone. The concert will include many Irish standards including "Lord of the Dance" and "The Irish Washerwoman, The Rakes of Mallow" from the "Irish Suite" by Leroy Anderson. There will be audience sing-alongs with some county tunes from Ireland. Also in the program there will be music by classical composers such as Verdi & Dvorak, as well as music from Film and Stage with themes from "Superman" and "Pirates of the Caribbean." Selections from the musicals will include "Les Miserables," and "Phantom of the Opera." Our concert will also feature music from the "The Blue and the Gray" a selection of songs from the Civil War, and of course, some Dixieland Jazz too. As you can see, there will be something for everyone young and old, Irish and American. The Artane Band will be joined by some local pipers for the Grand Finale. Don't miss it! |
