| Description: | The most compelling of the new acquisitions is the awe inspiring, monumental, 65" high x 49" wide painting known as the Christ in Majestythe most important and largest icon acquired by the Museum of Russian Icons. And, the finest example of its kind in an American museumever. Beginning May 8th 2009, the Museum will showcase "Christ in Majesty," and more than 20 other recent acquisitionsin an unprecedented American exhibition of these significant works of art. The exhibition will run until September 5th, 2009. During July and August, 2009, the Museum will remain open Thursday evenings until 8pm, with a tour at 6:30pm. | |
