This course is for people who are searching for a new way to address human rights and a sustainable peace through the doorway of the climate change crisis. We believe, along with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki Moon, that climate change has implications for peace and security. How can we address ecological balance while keeping peace, human rights, gender parity, global ethics and universal values in mind? How do we begin to build trust between peoples to address the needs of the earth?

What You Will Learn:

 Competencies for the practice of global citizenship as one of three levels of citizenship;
 How to use Dr. Elise Boulding's Imaging Process to motivate present behavior to address climate change for a sustainable peace;
 How to build a learning community with a conflict transformation mechanism to reconcile differences without alienating one another;
 Empowering tools to affirm your intent and mobilize your unique experience and gifts to address the climate change crisis as a doorway to sustainable peace;
 Practical tools for reducing your carbon footprint;

Participants will also have the opportunity to discover for themselves the United Nations most unique space for reflection, the Dag Hammarskjold Meditation Room.
