Description: More than 300 voices, joined by a full orchestra, will resonate through Mechanics Hall, as a consortium of Worcester's college chorales perform the Verdi Requiem, a major work known for its vigorous rhythms, sublime melodies and dramatic contrasts. The consortium comprises the choruses of Anna Maria College, Assumption College, Clark University, College of the Holy Cross, Worcester Polytechnic Institute and Worcester State College. Dr. Michelle Graveline, Assumption College music professor and choral conductor, takes the podium, and the performance features professional soloists Patrice Tiedemann, Rebecca O'Brien, Ray Bauwens and Robert Honeysucker. Rev. Donat Lamothe, professor of music at Assumption, will offer a free pre-concert lecture at 2:15 p.m.
