Immigration matters to Worcester's new residents now living in Greater Worcester. We know how important it is to welcome people from other lands to our shores. The purpose of this dialogue is to get at the roots of what people are facing when they come here in a de-politicized environment.
We propose to have a dialogue with questions that frame immigration in a de-politicized way in order to give it a human, authentic face. The conversations will link and build on each other as people move between groups, cross-pollinate ideas, and discover new insights into the questions that are most important in their life, work, or community as they relate to immigration. As a process, the Café evokes and makes visible the collective intelligence of any group, thus increasing people's capacity for effective action in pursuit of common aims.
