Description: Japanese traditionally delight in seasonal changes: a ripening persimmon in autumn, plum blossoms after a winter snow, vibrant hydrangea petals during the rainy season. Seasonality in Japan is experienced in a way not typically appreciated in the United States. During this session, please relax and enjoy a visual sampling of a calendar year in Japan featuring some of the finest flowers, foods and festivals of the country.

Instructor: Wendy Dodek

Wendy Dodek is an educator and writer who lived, worked, and thrived in Japan, absorbing the cultural nuances of this fascinating country. Before the pandemic, she was the Lead Educator at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. These days, she teaches English to recent arrivals to the US, many from Japan, with lessons highlighting the art and history of the region.
