Description: | What's going on in the landscape? On the one hand, some people are meadowscaping, installing all-native plantings, low-mow lawns, vegetated sidewalk strips, and waterside buffers. On the other hand, most landscapes are still governed by the standards of the past 100 years. Some see plants that are too tall and an unkempt look. They fear ticks and weeds—and are concerned about curb appeal and real estate value. In the meantime, technology is changing gardens, parks, and fields. Robots and drones are taking baby steps against the problems of weed and insect invasions. Robots are securing a place in landscape maintenance. New, safer products are tackling old problems such as grub control. Electric equipment is proving its value. Join this webinar for a lively "flyover" of a changing landscape. Instructor: Kathy Connolly Kathy Connolly is a landscape designer, writer, and speaker who emphasizes earth-friendly designs, native plants, and low-impact land care techniques. |
