Description: | The Assumption College Medieval and Early Modern Studies Program (MEMS) presents a lecture on the Black American Enlightenment by Harvard University Junior Fellow, Dr. Keidrick Roy. For centuries, people have admired the Eighteenth Century Enlightenment as a movement devoted to reason, science, liberty, and progress. However, a much less studied group of African American women and men were thinking alongside and even within the broader Enlightenment movement to extend its premises and reshape its trajectory. Please attend the Spring 2023 MEMS lecture by Harvard University Fellow Dr. Keidrick Roy in the Fuller Auditorium (Testa 006) on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at 5:00 pm with refreshments to follow in the Testa Atrium. |
