Description: In this production, Liberace, who died in 1987, "returns" to visit one of his extravagant homes, and recalls his life, beginning with his youth during the Great Depression, his early years as a traveling club pianist, and how he worked his way to become the highest paid entertainer in the world. Of course, he reminisces about his amazing, fabulous costumes, his well as the wonderful piano music. Liberace is quite a "name-dropper," so he will "drop" references to many of his celebrity contacts (although this is not a sensationalized version of Liberace's life as was the HBO movie "Behind the Candelabra." Liberace had an enormously successful TV variety show in the 1950s, and then had great success in Las Vegas and large venues across the country. Always, he wanted to support new, exciting talent, so he always had a guest performer or two to share the stage. In this production, Liberace welcomes local vocalist Melanie Lavoie Carl and professional dancer Glenn Leslie, from Chicago.
