Description: The Cognitively Based Compassion Training (CBCT) program was developed at Emory University by Lobsang Tenzin Negi, Ph.D. It is a system of contemplative exercises designed to strengthen and sustain compassion. The instructor, Suzanne Westbrook RN, MD is a Cognitively Based Compassion Teacher who received her certification in September 2019 from the the Center of Contemplative Science and Compassion-Based Ethics at Emory University. She has taught Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction for 10 years at Harvard University Health Services. HeartWell Institute is approved by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education to offer continued education and professional development credits to participants. HeartWell Institute has applied for 20 CE credits from the National Association of Social Workers.
