|Description:||Throughout history, ordinary women have done extraordinary things: they organized, they rallied, they asked for their rights, and they propped up modern society with tireless manual labour. All of these efforts converge in the late Victorian era, where Evie Dunmore sets her romance novels. Join her virtually for a discussion about Happy Ever Afters, women's rights, and modern women in bygone days. There will be a Q & A after the presentation.
Evie Dunmore wrote The League of Extraordinary Women inspired by the magical scenery of Oxford and her passion for romance, women pioneers, and all things Victorian. Her 2019 debut Bringing Down the Duke was an NPR & Publisher's Weekly favorite. In her civilian life, she is a strategy consultant with a M.Sc. in Diplomacy from Oxford.
