Description: American woodcocks are inland relatives of coastal shorebirds, favoring wet forests and fields, and spending much of their time incredibly well-hidden by their cryptic plumage. However, from late March to late April, woodcocks put on incredible courtship displays during their brief mating season, spiraling 300 feet into the air before descending rapidly to almost the exact same launch site. Witness this not-to-be-missed sunset display during one or both of these evenings. For more information and to register, call 978.464.2712.
