Christie Higginbottom worked at Old Sturbridge Village where she coordinated the historic horticulture program, trained garden interpreters and researched and planned the Villages kitchen and flower gardens and the Herb Garden collection. Now retired from full time work, she teaches gardening workshops, including classes for Tower Hill Botanic Garden and the Northeast Organic Farmers Association, and she presents programs on historic gardens at colleges, museums, garden clubs and historical societies.
