|Description:||This presentation will address four major points related to the climate change crisis:
The evidence for Climate Change. The changes are all around us and are happening now. Scientific data supporting this conclusion will be presented.
Technical Solutions - there is a need to quickly transition to a new clean energy economy. Technology and techniques to accomplish this will make this possible.
Financial Innovation. For too long, subsidies for fossil fuels have not accounted for the true cost of our energy use. Whole cost accounting, carbon fees, and incentives for conservation and renewable energy can steer the economy in a new direction.
Political Response. Strong leadership at all levels is needed to address this urgent crisis. Grassroots leadership can be the most powerful force for change.
This program will be presented by Worcester resident Paul Popinchalk, a retired engineer with more than 40 years of experience in facilities management, energy conservation, and conventional and renewable power generation. Paul is a husband, father, and grandfather, as well as a member of 350 Central Mass.
