Description: Join us to make a Suffragette Button! Well be stitching on Thursday, May 17, from 10:00 a.m. until 12 noon with the Magnolia Sampler Guild. This year marks the 100th anniversary of passage of the Representation of the People Act in the U.K., after which women constituted 43% of the electorate there, and it is also an election year here. We will celebrate our own voting rights and the valiant efforts of those who secured them for us by making a suffragette rosette. Please bring these supplies with you: Scissors for paper, Scissors for fabric, a few straight pins, sewing thread (any color), sewing needle, safety pin and threader and thimble (optional).
