Description: Doors open at 4:00, with dinner and homemade Irish soda bread served from 4:30-7:00. Sing along with traditional tunes by Yokeshire (back by popular demand from last year) and The Kelly Girls. Step dancing performances will include Barres own step dancers from the Listening Center, led by teacher Amy LaPointe. At 8:00 the Shillelagh Awards will be presented to local residents to celebrate their spirit of generosity, compassion, enthusiasm, kindness and sense of humor, followed by more music from Yokeshire and step dancing by the Irish Rhythm School from Clinton. If you missed it last year, the Leprechauns have been whispering that you really missed something.

Proceeds from the evening will support the Polus Centers Envision Success Project, a career exploration and job-training program for legally blind young adults age 14-21. Based in Petersham, the Polus Center has been providing opportunities for people with disabilities in Massachusetts since 1979, expanding to international humanitarian programs for landmine survivors and victims of conflict in 1998. The Polus Centers focus in MA is providing training and employment opportunities for people with disabilities, especially people with vision impairments. Polus also offers Adult Family Care to help seniors and people with disabilities in Petersham and surrounding towns to remain at home by supporting family members/caregivers.
All Things Irish 2018 is made possible in part by a grant from the Barre and Oakham Cultural Councils, local agencies that are supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency. A range of sponsorship opportunities in the evenings Program booklet will offset the event costs and help the Polus Center meet its fundraising goal. Memorial ads are welcomed, starting at $30. There is no charge for this fun filled night, though donations can be made to the Polus Center online or the night of the show.
