Description: The 141st Annual Meeting of Worcester Historical Museum begins with a business meeting at 4:30 to be followed by:
"Beating the Odds: The University of Massachusetts Medical School, A History 1962-2012" by
Ellen S. More, author of the just-published history of the same name. More is a historian of American medicine and is Professor Emeritus of Psychiatry at the University of Massachusetts Medical Schoo. We was also the founding head of the Office of Medical History and Archives of UMass Med's Lamar Soutter Library. "Beating the Odds" has been described as "that rare institutional history which is candid, engaging, thought provoking, and rarest of all, very readable."
The program will be followed by a book signing and light reception.
