Description: Test your classic movie mettle and meet author Ellen Wittlinger as we have fun with her latest middle grade novel, SATURDAYS WITH HITCHCOCK. The author will talk about her book, read, and sign--and the bookstore will test attendees knowledge with trivia based on the many movies and pop culture references in the book! (You don't have to have read the book to play!) Win prizes and discover a great new book!

Ellen Wittlinger is the author of fifteen YA and middle-grade novels, including Hard Love (Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers), winner of both a Printz Honor Award and a Lambda Literary Award. Her books have been on numerous ALA Best Books lists, Bank Street College of Education lists, and state award lists. Wittlinger has taught at Emerson College in Boston and in the Simmons College Writing for Children MFA program. She lives in Western Massachusetts.

SATURDAYS WITH HITCHCOCK is the story of twelve-year-old movie-loving Maisie, who is dealing with the realities of a grandparent with dementia, a mom whos been laid off from her job, finding out that Gary Hackett like likes her, and a best friend who just confessed that, actually, he like likes Gary. Maisies Uncle Walt, a Hollywood actor, provides a welcome diversion from Maisies problems when he comes to stay with her family. Uncle Walt has a way of pointing Maisie in the right direction. And heading to the local independent theater on Saturdays with her best friend, Cyrus, to see old films keeps Maisie grounded as she struggles with growing up, family tensions, and a love triangle she never expected.
