Description: Led by Artistic Director and Conductor Konstantin Petrossian, the program features traditional Christmas music in Armenian and in English. A reception and fellowship at 12:30pm will precede the concert. Guest Soloist Soprano Kate Norigian is a native of Rhode Island. She has a Bachelor degree in Voice Performance from Rhode Island College and has attended several summer opera programs including the V.O.I.C. Experience Program in Tampa, Florida and in Rome, Italy under the tutelage of famed soprano, Renata Scotto. The 2012 Second Place winner in the National 25th Annual Annamaria Saritelli Di Panni Bel Canto competition as well as a Semifinalist in the International Mildred Miller Competition in Pittsburgh, her roles have included Nedda from I Pagliacci with Opera Providence as well as the World Premiere of the opera William Sprague and His Women by Geoffrey Gibbs, singing the title role of Kate Chase Sprague. She has performed several Armenian music concerts including the 20th Anniversary of Armenias Independence in Providence RI which was attended by the Armenian Ambassador to the United Nations and in Worcester MA, receiving a key-to-the-city from Mayor Konstantina Lukes in 2008. Performing in recitals throughout Rhode Island and Massachusetts accompanied by her brother, pianist John Norigian, these have included the First Baptist Church of America in Providence and the Sprague Mansion in Cranston RI, among many others. Kate also concertizes locally with Opera Providence.
