|Description:||Certified Nursing Assisting (CNA) is a fast growing gateway to the allied health care field. This course is approved by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. This course prepares students for the certification exam as a nursing assistant. Nurse’s Assistant candidates will complete 87.5 hours of classroom and lab instruction and 29.5 hours of clinical instruction at a local rehabilitation and health care center.

Students must provide their own:
• Clean white shoes or white sneakers (solid white only)
• Dark Navy Scrubs (2-sets)
• Watch with a second hand
• Medical penlight
• Transportation to the clinical site
• Massachusetts Nurse’s Aide Exam fee
• CPR/BLS for Healthcare workers
• CNA pin (upon completion)
• Student professional liability insurance

Donna McElroy-Routhier, RN, BSN has 20 years of nursing experience. She is a graduate of Quinsigamond Community College 1997, and Chamberlain School of Nursing 2011. Donna has worked in long-term care as a CNA, staff nurse, and Staff Development Coordinator. She worked in Dermatology for 4 years. She returned to long-term care in 2004 as a Staff Development Coordinator and has worked for the last 11 years as Director of Nursing. She is currently the Director of Nursing at Life Care Center of Auburn. She is very excited to join our team to educate and inspire future healthcare workers.
Christine Piehl, RN, BSN, has been a Health Technology instructor at Bay Path Regional Vocational Technical High School for the past 16 years. She achieved her Associates Degree from Quinsigamond Community College and her BSN from Worcester State College. Christine has experience as a Charge Nurse, Unit Manager and MDS Coordinator.
