Description: | It has been 10 years since the terribly tragic fire at the Station Night Club in Rhode Island. Marilyn Bellemore was at many events there and has recently released a book about the club and artists that played there. She was in the unique position as the only journalist to regularly interview the national and international rock n roll and heavy metal bands that played at The Station during its heyday. Much has been written about the fire and its aftermath. However, the perspective of this book is a more positive look at the club and what made it a popular nightspot for live music. The Night the Music Ended tells the story of The Station with original feature articles and recent interviews with first responders, survivors, employees, and the bands that played there. A portion of the proceeds will go to The Station Fire Memorial Foundation to help build and maintain a memorial to the victims at the site of the fire in West Warwick, Rhode Island. Plans for the memorial will be unveiled just before the 10-year anniversary of the fire in February 2013. The event is free. Marilyn will be selling copies her book for $15 at the event. |
