Description: | The UMass Interdepartmental Program in Film Studies announces the 20th Annual Massachusetts Multicultural Film Festival "Continuities," opening its special anniversary spring season on Feb. 6. With weekly screenings and events through April 25 at UMass and in the Five College area in Amherst, the festival headlines award-winning narrative features and documentaries from France, Brazil/Colombia/Peru, Germany, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Romania, Spain, and the US. Also featured: nine filmmakers will discuss their movies; several New England premieres; two screenings in the directors' showcase; and "What's European about European Cinema?", a colloquium with Thomas Elsaesser and other renowned film scholars.
