| Description: | Learn how raptors were used for hunting in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. This day-long event examines a noble and historic art, including a lecture by Paul S. Morgan Curator Jeffrey Forgeng, a film on the history of falconry, and a make-your-own falcon workshop for children. At 1 and 2 pm, master falconer Julie Collier will discuss Native American and European traditions of hunting with birds of prey, while introducing the audience to live birds. Each demonstration followed by a tour of the Museums hunting gallery. Appropriate for ages 5 and older. Members free, non-members $1 additional to regular Museum admission (please come early as auditorium fills up quickly). | |
