Description: | ROSWELL ROOTS: The Strange Demise of Jim Crow by Dr. Curtis Graves Saturday, February 23. 3:00 p.m. The library will host a screening of the documentary film The Strange Demise of Jim Crow. This film reveals how the city of Houston, TX was peacefully desegregated via behind-the-scenes negotiations and controversial news black-outs. Following the screening will be a discussion facilitated by Dr. Graves, one of the original Texas Southern University student protestors and the first African American Texas State Representative. |
