| Description: | The Auburn Avenue Research Library, in collaboration with the NBAF (presenters of the National Black Arts Festival), will host I See the Rhythm of Gospel: The Art of Michele Wood, a visually compelling interpretation of the history African American Gospel music. The extraordinary images in this exhibit are taken from the award winning illustrated childrens books, I See the Rhythm of Gospel and I Lay My Stitches Down. The opening event for this exhibit will held on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. and will feature an Artists Talk facilitated by Michele Wood, and a tribute performance to Michele Wood by the Paisley Dance Ensemble, and the presentation of the 2012 Ashley Bryan Childrens Literature Award. | |
