Description: Join the African Community Education Saturday, May 12th for the 6th Annual Spring Festival.
The program includes African drumming, dancing, personal narratives from our students, and a fashion show. Immediately following the program, there will be a buffet of home cooked African food.
The ACE Program is a 501(c)3 non-profit education program in Worcester, MA. ACE currently serves over 100 African refugee and immigrant students within the Worcester Public School system. Our students come from war-torn countries of Africa such as Somalia and the Democratic Republic of Congo, and as a result lack a proper education prior to coming to the United States. Many students are English language learners and have missed years of schooling, putting them years behind their peers academically. These challenges, in addition to the culture shock they face, make school very difficult once here in the U.S. Our mission is to ease this transition and help our students catch up academically, graduate high school and attend college. We are proud to have recent graduates of our program currently enrolled at Assumption College, Westfield State College, Quinsigamond Community College and Worcester State University! We also enjoy amazing support of numerous college volunteers from Clark University, Holy Cross, Assumption, WPI, Worcester State!

The Spring Festival is a great opportunity to learn more about the African community of Worcester and to celebrate our students achievements! For more information on ACE or this Spring Festival, visit our website at www.acechildren.org, or give us a call at (508) 799-3653.
