| Description: | This is a community peace installation consisting of 66 banners hung on two bridges spanning the Elm Park pond. The labor, materials, and cost of shipping of the banners to Worcester are all being donated by Saori weavers! This is an The goals of this installation are: to inspire faith in Worcester, to raise money for the Saori Scholarship Fund for low-income kids & families by finding donating sponsors who will keep the banners, and to support the Aug.-Oct. 2010 Art in the Park sculpture exhibit. This is an official Art in the Park-related event! All are welcome to not only see the art from a distance, admiring its reflection in the pond, but also up close by walking the bridges! Every evening at 6pm bring your musical instruments, blankets, and picnic food for some family music jammin' on the lawn near the red bridge! (Drawing by artist Nancy Smith) |
