ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Holiday Cupcake & Bake Sale: Friday, April 2, 2010 at Rehabilitative Resources, Inc. 1 Piker Road (corner of Route 20 & 49), from 10 am to 2 pm to benefit Animals at Elm Hill Center in Brookfield. To place an order, contact Tara Arthur at 508-347-8181 x 123 or tarthur@rehabresourcesinc.org. Additional items will be available the day of the sale including Easter breads, brownies, and cakes. Order your specialty cupcakes ahead of time (6 for $8 or $1.50 each). Eight flavors of cupcakes available.

Quaboag Plantation 350th Anniversary Parade: Mark your calendars for September 19, 2010 in West Brookfield. The deadline to enter a float, etc. is April 15th. Go to brookfieldquaboag2010@gmail.com to enroll a float, march as a group, drive a vehicle or participate in another way.

Brush Burning Season: Jan Brush Burning Season: From Jan. 15th until April 30th. Burning is only allowed between 10 am and 4 pm. To obtain a permit call Dispatch at 508-867-1066 between the hours of 7:30 am and 12 Noon on the day you want to burn. The dispatcher will take some information and issue you a permit number. DO NOT call 911, the fire station or the regular dispatch number and you do not need to go in person to the fire station. Permits are only for one day. Other information is available on the Towns website or at www.brookfieldfd.com.

Map Day with Robert Wilder: on Sunday, March 28th at 1:00 pm at the Merrick Public Library. Eagle Scout candidate Tyler Latour is appealing to the community, family and businesses for sponsors to be included with his 50 map descriptions. Each map is available to be sponsored for $20 each. Write checks out to Troop 238 Funds raised will towards the purchase of a map case, which will be placed in the library. You can mail your checks c/o Troup 238 to the Town Hall and they will be forwarded for you.

Dance: The Brookfield Cultural Council will host a 50s dance featuring music by Shakin All Over on Saturday, May 1, 2010, at 7 p.m. at the Brookfield Elementary School. The dance is open to all ages, and admission is free (donations welcome). Fifties attire and classic cars are encouraged. There will be refreshments available, limbo and twist contests, and prizes for best dressed.

Free Car Seats Available: The Police Department now has a limited number of free car seats for Brookfield residents. If you would like one, please request in writing to Police Dept., P.O. Box 306, Brookfield, MA 01506 or you may drop off your letter of request. Requests for car seats will be reviewed on an individual basis. There are three styles: infant; switchable; and booster seats. The seats are available as a result of a Jeppson Grant

Spaghetti Dinner, April 10th @ 6:00 pm at the Brookfield Rod & Gun Club, 56 Webber Road, Brookfield to benefit the 2010 Camp Bourndale Students. Ticket donations: $8 Adults; $6 Seniors 60 & up; $5 kids 12 & under. Tickets available at Brookfield Rod & Gun Club, Countryside Pub in Warran, Quaboag Valley Real Estate, Daves Appliance and TipTop Country Store or by calling Lisa Caron at 508-341-8299 or Michelle Terry at j508-735-8744.
