You are cordially invited to participate in this event at the United Nations with Michiko Kuroda and Virginia Swain as your guides on peace and security at the United Nations.

With experience in the UN Community since 1991, Virginia will introduce people to the United Nations as well as share her vision for a sustainable peace.

Virginia will:
 Arrange a UN Tour of the Secretariat for us where we will learn UN history and see the magnificent art. The art alone is a stunning array of works from all over the world.
 Arrange a presentation/dicussion on Peace and Security by Michiko Kuroda, Senior United Nations Leader and Virginia Swain
 Arrange a luncheon in the United Nations Delegates Dining Room

Cost for trip:
$295 for each person (includes transportation from Worcester, Ma) ;$195 for students/seniors and includes all of the above highlights.

Ms. Michiko Kuroda has 30 years experience in the United Nations. From 2004-2006 she was the Chief of Staff in the peacekeeping and peacebuilding mission in Timor-Leste. As Chief of Staff, she was the principal adviser to the head of the mission, who is the Special Representative of the Secretary-General (SRSG) and the Deputy SRSG. She was also in charge of the SRSG's Office in managing public information, correspondence, gender issues, as well as Civilian Support Group. She worked for three years in the Department of Peacekeeping Operations, where she had the responsibility to guide the peacekeeping missions in the field. Since November 2006, she is a Senior Management Analyst with the committee on Committee on Contracts, Department of Management. Michiko is the co-author of Early Warning Capacity of the United Nations System: Prospects for the Future.

Ms Virginia Swain is the Founder and Director, Institute or Globa Leadership and Director and Co-Founder, Center for Global Community and World Law and Founder, Institute for Global Leadership, has 19 years experience in the UN community and 25 years of practical experience on five continents as an educator, consultant, ombuds, mediator, mentor, counselor and manager and trainer in commercial and non-profit enterprises including Peace Corps teaching in Africa.
