| Description: | Stephen Knott, associate professor of National Security Studies at the U.S. Naval War College and author of "At Reagan's Side: Insiders' Recollections from Sacramento to the White House". Knott will speak about the value of oral history as part of U.S. presidents' record and legacy. Knott, an Assumption College alumnus, oversaw the recently completed Reagan Oral History Project, and was involved in the Edward M. Kennedy, George H. W. Bush and William J. Clinton oral history projects, when he co-chaired the Presidential Oral History Program at the University of Virginia's Miller Center for Public Affairs. Knott, who has worked at the John F. Kennedy Library and taught at Boston College and the U.S. Air Force Academy, also wrote "The Reagan Years; Alexander Hamilton and the Persistence of Myth", and "Secret and Sanctioned: Covert Operations and the American Presidency", among other books. He will signing copies of his books at the event. |
