| Description: | By the Sweat of Our Brow, is a slideshow, discussion, and program of dramatic readings that document the life of the Longshoremen of ILA Local #1329(Providence and New Bedford). The diverse experiences of these men are poignant, humorous, sweet, and bitter. They recall the "old-timers" and the infamous "new regime." They wear their hard hats with pride, and "earned a good living" as they weathered unhealthy conditions and unjust deeds. Presenter Sylvia Ann Soares, Brown '95, AEA, SAG, AFTRA, has toured nationally and abroad and has performed on television and in major regional theatres. |
