| Description: | The dazzling piano duo Con Brio will take the gallery stage at the Museum of Russian Icons in Clinton on Saturday, December 12 to present Dance of the Russian Soul, a concert featuring dance-inspired works from great Russian composers. Con Brio, an Italian expression meaning with vigor, is an apt description for performers Sima Kustanovich and Olga Rogach. Trained at the famed St. Petersburg Conservatory of Music, they represent the best of the great Russian school of pianism with their virtuosity and dynamic style. They attack the keys with a coordinated energy and liveliness rarely witnessed in such an intimate setting. Audience members will delight to spectacular sound, surrounded by a special holiday exhibit, Celebrating the Season: Icons of Saint Nicholas. Con Brio has appeared throughout New England since 1993, with an expanding repertoire drawn from standard 4-hands piano literature, as well as two-piano works. The concert will feature Romeo and Juliet by Tchaikovsky, Italien Polka by Rachmaninoff, Stravinskys Russian Dance from Petrushka and other duets. |
