| Description: | Dive into the exciting world of glass beadmaking in this introductory class. Using a torch and "soft" Moretti glass, learn the fundamentals of making beautiful glass beads in a relaxing environment. After a thorough examination of the safe use of studio equipment, students will be guided through the process of heating colored glass rods over the flame of a torch to form simple glass beads, large focal beads, pendants and even small sculptures. Learn the basics of manipulating molten glass as you discover how much fun glass beadmaking can be! Materials: Materials are not included but are available for purchase at the glass studio. Prerequisite: None. Avoid wearing man made fibers and bring a bottle of water with you to class. All glass classes take place at the Worcester Center for Crafts' New Street Glass Studio, 35B New Street, Worcester, MA 01605 |
