<b>Olneyville Library, Providence Community Library,</b> One Olneyville Square, Providence, RI <br> The Rhode Island Family Literacy Initiative will be offering a U.S. Citizenship Preparation class at the Olneyville Library from September 2012 to June 2013 on Thursday afternoons from 1:30 to 4:00PM. The class will prepare students for all aspects of the U.S. Citizenship Interview: small talk, basic reading and writing, mastery of 100 U.S. Civics questions as well as understanding and completing the 10 page N-400 application. Prospective students should come to one of two Registration and Pre-Testing sessions on Wednesday, August 22nd and Thursday, August 30th from 1:30 to 3:00PM. Eligibility for the class is based on students' pre-test score and English speaking ability which should be at a High Beginner level or above. Students should ideally be able to have a basic conversation in English (i.e. Can the student demonstrate an ability to understand and respond to "What's your name?", "Where do you live?" "How many children do you have?", "What country are you from?", etc.). Class starts on Thursday, September 20th and is free but there is a one-time, $20 registration fee. Interested students can sign up to receive a call for a scheduled Registration/Pre-Test appointment at the Olneyville Library or they can call 455-8041. Cost: One-time $20 registration fee Thursdays, through Jun 13.
