The Master Singers of Worcester, Inc. is dedicated to performing high quality choral music for the enjoyment and education of the performer and listener. Led by Artistic Director, Malcolm Halliday, concert pianist and conductor, it has distinguished itself by consistent, high quality presentation of lesser-known, but important sacred and secular choral masterworks and exploration of contemporary works by international and regional composers. In continuous operation as a self-supporting, non-profit, volunteer community chorus for men and women, from young adult to senior, we perform three to four concerts annually, in addition to several community outreach events. The chorus encompasses approximately 60 chorus members who typically work and reside in Worcester and its surrounding communities. MSW promotes music education through internships to talented area high school students and collaboration with local college, community music school and church-based youth choirs and orchestras. The organization was founded in 1976 by the late Alfred Nash Patterson, gifted choral conductor and promoter of the choral arts.
