Designed in 1902 by Josephine Wright Chapman, one of America's first female architects, Tuckerman Hall is one of the most exquisitely designed assembly spaces in America and features superb acoustics. Its main hall is adorned with intricate plaster detail, and has a seating capacity of 521 for concerts; 275 for dinner receptions; and 200 for weddings. Tuckerman Hall regularly hosts concerts of its owner, the Massachusetts Symphony Orchestra, as well as a variety of classical chamber, jazz, and folk concerts throughout the year. Tuckerman Hall is an Official Project of Save America's Treasures and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
