It's almost here! The Shrewsbury Street Area Merchants Association (SSAMA) is once again throwing one of the biggest parties of the year!
The 6th Annual Taste of Shrewsbury Street is slated for Tuesday, June 24, 2008 from 5PM to 9PM. The street-long event includes tastings from the dozens of member restaurants plus live music and other attractions. Admission is $25 in advance, $30 day-of and proceeds benefit benefit the nonprofit Champions for Children designee YouthGROW* and the non-profit SSAMA.
Each year, thousands of people turn out for this popular night of great tastes. For 2008, there's much more fun in store. Worcesters hometown "Restaurant Row" is a great place to dine, and the word is out, louder than ever.
Where else can you visit so many celebrated eateries offering attendees tastings of delectable edibles from over 40 ethnically diverse menus. In addition to sampling great eats, attendees will enjoy Street-side live music, live radio broadcasts (hosted by Oldies 98.9 FM WORC-FM, The Pike 100.1 FM, and WXLO 104.5 FM), Italian Singers, the Giant Cookie Contest, fun and games, and so much more.
Plenty of parking is available in restaurant-owned parking lots, street-side, on the side streets, and in municipal lots located right off Shrewsbury Street at Fantasia Street and Albany Street. Taste 2008 attendees may leave the car behind and hitch a ride from one end of the Street to the other provided by horse-drawn wagon rides courtesy of Bob Largess or a trolley cars sponsored by Bay State Savings Bank and Fidelity Bank, as well as a shuttle provided by Mezcal Tequila Cantina.
This fun and festive celebration of Shrewsbury Street's culinary talents is presented by the nonprofit Shrewsbury Street Area Merchants Association (SSAMA). Proceeds from the sale of admission pins benefit Champions for Children and the non-profit SSAMA.
The pin price is $25 per person in advance, $30 day of.
