This introductory course will give students a hands-on tour of the New Street Glass Studio, allowing them to sample all that the facility has to offer. Students will create projects in each of our glassblowing, flameworking, stained glass and fusing studios. This class is designed to provide a unique opportunity for students to gain skills across a range of techniques, helping them to decide which direction to pursue within the field of glass. You can expect to create several small projects during the course. All levels welcome.  &#xD;&#xA;&#xD;&#xA;Avoid wearing man made fibers and bring a bottle of water with you to class. All glass classes take place at the Worcester Center for Crafts' New Street Glass Studio, 35B New Street, Worcester, MA 01605&#xD;&#xA;

Italian Language Classes - Registration for Classes will be held on Thursday, September 10 from 6:30  8:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Recreation Center, 28 Mulberry Street, Worcester, MA or by calling (508) 791-6139 or by sending registration to IACC  28 Mulberry St., Worcester, Ma 01605. There are four levels of classes offered for adults.  Italian for Beginners 1, this class intended for people who have had no exposure to Italian.  Beginners II will be a continuation of Beginners 1, and requires completion of that course or a similar background. An Intermediate Italian course for those that have completed Italian I and II and are not quite ready for Advanced Italian. Beginners I, ll, and Intermediate will be held on Tuesday evenings from 6:30  8:00 p.m. Advance Italian will be held on Thursday evenings from 6:30  8:00 p.m. All classes run 12 weeks, starting on Tuesday, September 15. Volunteer docents conduct the tours of the Societys main library building called Antiquarian Hall. Located at 185 Salisbury Street, Antiquarian Hall is the third home to the Society and the site of an eighteenth-century printing press, a collection of antique furniture, portraits, and Staffordshire pottery and twenty-five miles of shelving filled with historic printed materials including a new state-of-the art book vault constructed in 2002. All of these features, plus a short film are included in the free Wednesday tours.  
 Cost: Free

This introductory course will give students a hands-on tour of the New Street Glass Studio, allowing them to sample all that the facility has to offer. Students will create projects in each of our glassblowing, flameworking, stained glass and fusing studios. This class is designed to provide a unique opportunity for students to gain skills across a range of techniques, helping them to decide which direction to pursue within the field of glass. You can expect to create several small projects during the course. All levels welcome.  &#xD;&#xA;&#xD;&#xA;Avoid wearing man made fibers and bring a bottle of water with you to class. Volunteer docents conduct the tours of the Societys main library building called Antiquarian Hall. Located at 185 Salisbury Street, Antiquarian Hall is the third home to the Society and the site of an eighteenth-century printing press, a collection of antique furniture, portraits, and Staffordshire pottery and twenty-five miles of shelving filled with historic printed materials including a new state-of-the art book vault constructed in 2002. All of these features, plus a short film are included in the free Wednesday tours.

The largest New Year's Eve celebration in the region features every kind of music from Rock to Bach, dance, comedy, storytelling, puppetry and interactive programming. Among this year's stellar line-up is the renowned musical Riverdance sensation Eileen Ivers &amp; Immigrant Soul; the zany Airborne Comedians, the larger-than-life Hudson Vagabond Puppets; ice skating at the DCU Arena with Finz, the mascot of the Worcester Sharks; a Teen-only venue at WPI Alden Hall; and a Global Village filled with international performances and food! Midnight countdown to take place at Worcester Common behind City Hall with a fire juggling show, resolution fire pits, and simul-cast of the ball dropping in Times Square.
