ABSTRACT: Spaces of differentiable functions have been defined on various classes of closed sets of R^n. Examples of such spaces are the Whitney space of k times differentiable functions on closed sets and Sobolev and Besov spaces on selfsimilar fractals or more general sets. In this lecture we will recall the definition of some of these spaces, give some results for them, and mention some applications of them.
