Physics Colloquium, "When X-Rays and People Collide, " by Dr. Christopher B. Martel, Director, Dept. of Health Physics, Brigham & Women's Hospital
Science / Technology - Colloquium
Monday, November 5, 2012
4:00 PM-5:00 PM
Olin Hall

The rapidly increasing use of x-rays in healthcare is exposing millions more people each year to the risk of cancer and serious injury. The production of x-rays, interactions with human tissue, and the resulting effects are explained in the context of medical interventional procedures, and an argument is made of the need for physics education to be included as an integral component for all physicians.
