Community Cinema Worcester will be screening our first film of the year, Soul Food Junkies, a documentary by Bryon Hurt.
Soul food lies at the heart of African American cultural identity. The black community's love affair with soul food is deep-rooted, complex, and in some cases, deadly. Soul Food Junkies puts this culinary tradition under the microscope to examine both its significance and it's consequence.
Following the film will be a discussion including three panelist from the community:
Anthony Gardner- Farmers Market Manager (REC)
Sherar Andalcio- MS IV
UMass Medical School Class 2013
Robert Ramirez - Food Art by Rob (who will also be selling food during the screening!)
This program is administered by the Worcester Arts Council, for the Local Cultural Council an agency supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
