I cannot think of a better poet to invite to remind all poets of our love of the most important of things - words, that is why I have asked Paul M. Szlosek
to be the Love Words on Valentine's Day Feature. According to a quote from the 2000 Spring/Summer interview in "Sahara - A Journal of New England Poetry" Paul had an idea once to teach a NightLife course called "Poets Playground." Every poet in Worcester and beyond owes a feature or two to this
co-founder of the (now-defunct) "Poets Parlor" one of the longest running venues in Worcester Poetry history and one of the warmest, first and foremost because Paul conquered years of shyness to become a consumate host. Known to most as the poet who "plays with different forms to jump start his brain," Paul was featured in this first edition of "Sahara" at what was the beginning of a fifteen year run of both introducing known and little known writers to all of us. His signature poem, "The Farmer's Son" won First Prize in the Landmark Literary Contest, and his own feature entitled "Magic, Math and Meter" was one of my favorite memories of the Poets Parlor's last space in Southbridge. Please come out to read in the open mic which precedes the feature and we always break for homemade baked goods, coffee and tea on the house. Lets welcome Paul back to the place he has earned, entertaining us all with how much fun poetry really can be!!! Hosted by Anne Marie Lucci

Cost: free and open to the public/hat passed to support feature/venue

Suggested Audiences: Elders, Adult, College, High School, Middle School
