Tai Chi is a sequence of movements derived from ancient Chinese traditional defensive arts. Tai Chi is an internal martial arts focused on the integration of mind, body, and chi (or internal energy). Regular practice of Tai Chi may improve balance, strength, fitness, and overall health. Studies have shown it to relieve stress, lower blood pressure, and lessen the pain and symptoms of arthritis, diabetes and osteoporosis. The movements are performed slowly with no pounding or jarring of the body. As such, it is an excellent form of exercise for young and old, those with chronic pain issues, and people recovering from illness or injuries. The 24 Forms is an excellent gateway to longer forms or weapons forms. It also serves as a complete stand alone form that can be practiced and perfected for a lifetime. This 10 week class will teach you the complete 24 Forms, opening the door to great changes in your life. Appropriate for all levels.
