Worcester State University, along with Mine Safety Appliances Company (MSA), will host a special fundraiser screening of the documentary BURN. The films executive producer, Denis Leary, will return to his hometown for the screening and Q&A following the film with directors Tom Putnam and Brenna Sanchez, as well as featured Detroit firefighters from the film. Also in attendance will be Rescue Me's Lenny Clarke, who will be the MC for the event.

This film celebrates the firefighters of Detroit their courage and devotion, their struggle with financial crises and the constant call of duty that exists in an urban setting all the elements which are evident in fire departments across this great nation, including my hometown, said Leary.

BURN won the Audience Award at the Tribeca Film Festival earlier this year. This special screening is a fundraiser to raise money for a national release of the film. A significant portion of profits from the completed film will go The Leary Firefighters Foundation to purchase new equipment for Detroit firefighters.
