In the Barre Falls Dam protected land complex, there is a dramatic bog adjacent to sandplains. Black spruce in the bog contrasts with the pitch pine growing on the sandplains, setting up an interesting habitat for exploration. Meet at the parking lot off Route 122/Coldbrook Road in Oakham.
